			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The <a href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science_and_environment/10132762.stm">BBC</a> has posted an article about some <a href="http://www.jcvi.org/">US researchers</a> that have used bacteria to manipulate and I suppose create a new synthetic DNA imposed upon the existing infrastructure of a cell.  They then got the cell to run a <em>cp</em> command on itself.  I think the idea is to create critters that generate meds for humans, which ethically seems wrong to me.</p>
