If you are not into the burgeoning e-sports scene that has a strong hold on South Korea, Ukrainian White-Ra defeated macro-genius US ex-pat IdrA in the HDH Invitational Tournament that finished earlier this week.
If you aren’t into Starcraft or RTS games, imagine a game like chess which requires resource gathering to make rooks, pawns, knights etc instead of starting with a set. and you can’t see the other players side of the board unless you have a piece within two squares, and bishops can fly. And instead of taking turns you make actions in a serial stream of commands … some of which has cool-down timers.
Just like chess.

I don’t really play these games, but I do enjoy watching them with good screencasters.
